On September 23rd we celebrated our 10th Anniversary in Barracas.
We had lots of fun! First, we signed a document together with some of our neighbours and the City Government to take care of Plaza Colombia. Then, we played games at Plaza Colombia with questions related to values.

Finally, we invited the band from Policía Federal to play while we let AACI balloons into the air!

Brief Encounters

We started off this new year with a real treat: Brief Encounters, at BAC by "Tour de Force Theatre” from Wales.
These highly talented actors delighted us with their various characters in their adaptation of what is probably Noel Coward’s best known romantic play, the story of two married people who meet on a railway platform and fall deeply in love. The romantic mood of the play was wonderfully accompanied by live piano music on the stage.

Everything turns black and orange and we all look for spooky costumes. But what is it all about? I think I am good at sports. I've been playing sports since I was a child. I played hockey, tennis, handball, I rode horses and I love it. Now I'm playing tennis, I play well but I think I am better riding horses. I think I'm good at sports because I love its and I work hard on it.

I'm really bad drawing. I've been bad at drawing since I was a kid. Also I am not a very good cooker because I am not interesting on learning to cook.

In the future I would like to be a deportist because is the only job I like in this moment, but I know I can’t be a deportist because I should have had to started when I was very little.

I think I have body intelligence, because I love dancing and in my free time I dance too much, perhaps in my future I'll be a dancer.

I love meeting new people, so I have interpersonal intelligence and I love talking, I like singing, and I think I have musical intelligence, but I can't sing very well.

I'm very bad at Maths so I haven't got logical mathematical intelligence. When someone is reading a book, I can't pay attention, it's too difficult for me, so I haven't got verbal intelligence. I haven't got visual intelligence, because I don't remember what I read or what I see.

When I finish school, I'd like to be a dancer. Because I think I'm very good at dancing and I love it!

I think I've got good body intelligence because I'm quite good at volley-ball, for example, and I love listening to music. My best subjects are Art and English. I enjoy drawing with pencils and I love studying English because it's very easy for me.

I'm not very good at Maths - it's difficult for me to memorise formulae and to understand all that.

When I finish, I'd like to be an English teacher. I like English but sometimes I'm not very good in the tests that I do.

A lot of schools think that is better have computers instead of books for students. They think that with Internet all is easier. They work very hard to buy computers. Sometimes it works and sometimes doesn’t.

There are a lot of advantages of having computers. For example on Internet you can find all faster. People save money because they don’t buy books. The students don’t have to carry weight on them, and the teachers don’t have to worry if the students came with the books that they need.

However, there are disadvantages. First of all, you don’t know if the information is right or if it’s false. Then, students can break the computers or someone can rob them. In addition, the students could play instead of work.

In conclusionis that we should have computers instead of books but you have to be very carefull because any of the previous things could happen.

402T Pros and Cons of Mobile Phones for Teenagers: Use or Abuse?

More and more teenagers have amobile phone now. In the las two years this “problem” increased very fast. Now all the teenagers and also boys and girls that have ten years use their mobile phones.

As a result, more teenagers are in touch to their friends and family. So, when you have a problemin the street or something like this, they only have to use the mobile phone and phone someone. This is better for the parents, because they know where is their soons.

However, the teenagers are in dangerous with a mobile phone because now there are more and more thefts in everywhere and nobody is quiet so it. They are too little to pass this horrible actions.

To conclude, I think that this is not too important, there are too many problems more important. But, in my opinion, the teenagers have to be in touch with their parents but the boys and girls too little not. And in the topic of thefts, well, I agree, now there are too much and this afect in all the person.

403T Cars in cities- do we really need them?

In the last few years a lot of cars have been bought by people all around the world, and new models are out for sale every day, with the most advanced techonology to make them more comfortable and sophisticated. Even in small cities there have been an increase on sales.

Because of this, the streets are now full of cars most of the day. Moreover, people are using cars more and more each day. They think it's more comfortable than travelling by bus and less tiryng than going on foot.

In addition, cars not always help us. Firstly, the smoke of the cars pollutes the air, and in the cities where trere are a lot of people, like Mexico, it's hard to breathe. Secondly, everybody is using cars so often to go everywhere and they are so used to doing it that they forget that is bad for their health to be in a car all day and of course it's very stressful to drive around the streets.

And finally, there are more and more traffic accidents and streets are not safe anymore.

To conclude, I think we don't need cars all the time, just for long journeys or when we need to transport something big. For the rest we can go by bus, on foot or by bike.

We all know that mobile phones are one of the most important inventions of the history, and that it's changing the way we communicate. But is it good that most teenagers have one? Let's see the pros and cons of mobile phones for teenagers.

Mobile phones have a lot of advantages: teenagers and parents are in touch all the time, and that's avery good point to have a mobile phone. Another thing is that, with the modern mobiles, young people can have fun at any moment, because of the applications it has: it's useful for playing music, taking photos, playing video games, and so on.

However, they also have many disadvantages. First of all, they are very expensive and teenagers spend a lot of money with the text messages and phone calls. Secondly, it's a security risk for teenagers, who go with their mobile on the street. And finally, the fact that teenagers get distracted very easy with it.

To conclude, I think that it's important to have one mobile phone for communication, in spite of all the disadvantages I have mentioned before.

He has got four children, Francisco, Juana, Candelaria and Micaela. He's a businessman, a TV and films producer, a TV presenter and a sports manager. He attends award ceremonies twice a month. He often does business. He takes his children to school every morning. He meets important people. He has got interviews.

His hobbies are running marathons and playing football. He goes skiin with his family. He appears in magazines. He spends time with his family. He presents a TV show every night.

In the morning, Tinelli gets up very early. He has breakfast with his family, he drinks some coffee and eats a chocolate cake and some biscuits. After his breakfast Tinelli sometimes goes running in the park. He always goes to work after that.

He works until 1pm. Later, Tinelli has lunch at 2pm. He likes to order beefburger and salad. He has a healthy diet and he does some excercise every day. Yinelli plays tennis with his friends once a week. He hardly ever goes shopping. In his job, he has meetings and he signs contracts for Ideas Del Sur.

Tinelli works on TV in the evening. He often helps his children with their homework. He has dinner with this friends from work. They go to a restaurant and eat pizza or a lot of meat. He goes to bed very late. He sleeps 7 hours.

At 6.00pm he goes to the studio to test the programme. At 8.00pm he dresses up for the programme and then he makes up. At 10.30 he hosts the TV programme. At midnight he goes home. And then he has dinner. At 00.45 he goes to bed.

In the evening, he goes to the studio and makes up. He hosts a TV show while he speaks with the celebrities. Sometimes, he goes to a restaurant with his family. Then he goes home, and goes to sleep.

Then Tom married his girlfriend, Allison. Later the police investigated Anna's death and they knew who killed Anna. Tom escaped to another country. One year later the police found Tom with his new wife in Chile and the police took them to prison.

The four men didn't understand whathe or maybe she had tried to say. They took the body of the alien and the head to the main quarters. While they were looking inside the alien's body, they found a chip with a strange password. They discovered the secret password and this is what the chip said: "Look out you fools...!"

304T "The dangerous night"

One night a young woman went for a swim in the sea. She didn't come back. The next morning the police found ther dead on the beach.

Her name was Lucy.

It happened two years ago, in the ocean.

It was a strmy nigh. Lucy was walking along the beach, she was lookin for ther dog because it had disappeared.

When she was walking on the beach, she heard a noise in the water and she got closer. She thought that the noise in the ocean was her dog.

Lucy went into the ocean to find it but the only thing that she found was a mermaid. The mermaid was sleeping, she was very beautiful but she was furious.

Lucy started to swim far away from the mermaid. Lucy was afraid, but a terrible thing happened...

After two minutes she died, because her foot was trapped with a rope. Her dog appeared just when she died, the dog was very sad.

Then the police arrived and they found the body of the girl.

305 "The true killer"

One night in New York in 1998, a young woman, Gabriella, went for a swim in the sea. She didn’t come back. The next morning the police found her dead on the beach.
John, her ex husband and a private detective, was there that morning. Matt Curline, the most mistrustful police officer, was there too. When John saw him, he started to run fast and then he disappeared.
Matt believed John was the killer, and he told that to his best friend, Dave, another police officer.
The next morning Matt was killed. Dave started to investigate the case and he discovered that the “police officers” weren’t real police officers; the killer was a police officer or a detective; and he suspected John was the killer.
John knew Matt couldn’t tell the truth because he was dead. But, what truth? Nobody knew.
On Saturday morning, Dave saw John. When John saw him, he took his gun but Dave ran like the fastest in the world and John couldn’t kill him. Now Dave knew John was the killer. But was that true? Yes, that was the truth, but who could suspect John, a private detective, was the killer? Only Dave.
On Sunday night, John called Dave and he said: “If you tell the truth, I will kill your family and then you!” Next morning, Dave ran away with his family and nobody knew where.
One week later, Dave told the truth on TV.
Now John and the false police officers are dead. Nobody knows who killed them, but today all the people know who is Dave Pierre.

401T "Mariano Martínez"

Mariano Martínez was born on 5 December in 1978, in La Boca, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is an Argentinean Actor.

When he was born his parents broke up and his brothers and he went to live with his mother to Avellaneda. He went first to the school called E.N.S.P.A. but then he went to the school "San Martín".

He is a lovely mand who had a lot of famous girlfriends.

Martinez's first TV appeareance came at the age of 16, when he received a small role in TVseries "La leyenda de un hombre malo". When he reached 18, he already had a number of television credits to his name, including popular operas "RR D.T.", "La nena", "Por siempre mujercitas" among others.

In 1999, he starred "Campeones" and after his role here, as Valentín D'Alessandro, Mariano has been on other programmes. In 2006 he was the main character of the programme "Alma Pirata" and most recently landedad the role of Juan in "Son de fierro".

Mother Teresa was born on August 26th 1910, and she was the youngest child of an Albanian grocer. She was born in Skopje, Yugoslavia.

When she was 18 years old, she studied English in Dublin with the Irish sisters of Loreto, and she received the first comunion at the age of 5, and was confirmed in November 1916.

She was tiny, frail but outspoken. She was also always on her own, independent and obedient.

She believed that God wanted her to work among the sick and needy. She wanted to found an order of nuns, sho she established the order of the Missionaries of Charity, and later a home for abandoned children, and also a colony for lepers. Also she won the Nobel Peace Prize, in 1979 for her humanitarian work.

In 1970, she had become internationally known for her humanitarian work. She is also remembered by millions of peopela as a saint for her work, faith and commitment to poor people.

She died on September 5th 1997 in Calcutta, India, at the age of 87.

404T "Norberto Napolitano (1950-2005)"

Norberto Napolitano was born on March 10, 1950 in La Paternal. He died on February 24, 2005. His nickname was Pappo. He started to play the guitar at the age of 10.

Pappo became an underground working-class hero when he started to play with his band "Pappo's Blues". But he became very popular when he started to play with "Riff".

Pappo started his career in the band "Los Gatos", the first rock band to enter the mainstream charts in Argentina. He also played in the first incarnation of "Los Abuelos de la Nada" and "La Pesada del Rock and Roll". In the mid 1970s Pappo spent some time in Brazil and also in England playing alongside with B.B. King in the Madison Square Garden in 1993and 1994.

On Febrary 24, 2005 Pappo went to dine out with his son Luciano and his son's girlfriend. At km 71 on Motorway 5, Pappo's Harley Davidson chopper touched Luciano's motorcycle. Pappo fell and a car travelling in the opposite direction hit him causing his death.
